Educate Don’t Litigate

Workplace conflict often is triggered by management decisions concerning an employee or group of employees that are made, communicated or implemented ineffectively.

Prevention is Key

A significant proportion of workplace conflict could be avoided if managers and supervisors were given practical training on how to make and implement respectful and legally defensible decisions.

To assist managers in “doing what needs to be done” – in a respectful and lawful manner - Marli Rusen of Management Matters has created a number of half-day, in-house workshops.  These provide managers and supervisors with the necessary and practical skills to manage the most common and complex workplace issues such as:

  • Is it Discrimination? Accurately Identifying and Addressing Human Rights Issues in the Workplace;
  • Conducting Lawful Workplace Investigations: The Power is in the Process;
  • Managing “Disability Management”: The Evolving Concept of Workplace Accommodation;
  • Away again?  Addressing Employee Absenteeism Effectively;
  • Managing the “Complex” Employee: Designing and Implementing an Effective Exit Strategy;
  • “I can’t work with him anymore”: How to Performance Manage Conflict and Bullying out of the Workplace;
  • How to Increase Safety and Reduce Costs: Exercising Due Diligence with Workers and Worksafe;
  • Communication, Documentation and Escalation: Using Performance Management to Transform Mediocrity into Excellence;
  • “The Devil Made me Do It”: The Intersection Between Workplace Misconduct, and Mental Health;
